Blog Tour: Vaempires Revolution by Thomas Winship

Today it's my stop on the great Vaempires Revolution Tour, and I'm so excited about it! Please keep reading to see my thoughts on the book, and watch the amazing trailer created by the extremely talented Silvia @ Darkest Sins! And make sure to come back on June 12th for the author interview and a giveaway!

Summary (taken from Goodreads):
It is the morning of Princess Cassandra’s sixteenth birthday. Everyone’s attention is focused on the heir to the vampire throne. World leaders, the rich and famous, and VIPs from every corner of the globe have gathered in the nation’s capital to celebrate the momentous event. Cassandra’s boyfriend, Daniel, is late for the party. He’s still outside the city when all hell breaks loose. What he believes is an act of terrorism proves to be a full-fledged revolution. Væmpires—former vampires who mutated into warm-blooded creatures with an insatiable hunger for cold blood—have launched coordinated attacks across the globe, with three goals: the eradication of humanity, the enslavement of vampires, and the ascension of væmpires as the dominant species on the planet. The vampire and human leaders are killed. Cassandra is missing. Daniel is the acting king. Desperate to find the princess, Daniel and his friends fight their way across the besieged city. With the hopes of the free world resting on the shoulders of four vampire teenagers, væmpires unleash their secret weapons—væmpires with special powers. What can four teens do against an enemy that can shape-shift, fly, or walk through walls?

My Review:
Wow... I've been feeling lots of mixed emotions about the book. It's been kinda intense, probably a little too detailed on the gory parts for my taste, but it was great!
The definition of Vaempires and the dinamics of how they were created are really refreshing, and they remind me a bit of the movie Daybreakers, which I liked very much. I really like the idea of a world ruled by vampires, even if it wouldn't be a good thing for me as a human being :)
Daniel & Cassie are two very strong characters, but it's kinda sad that at fifteen they were forced to go through what they went through.
I really enjoyed the story told by two different POVs, it made me understand the story a lot better.
Lots of shocking moments, especially the end, which was very sad for me as well as it left me with a huge cliffhanger.
Amazing story, Tom, I can't wait to read more!!

  1. You know I really liked Daybreakers' theory (and despite the fact that you and me are not much for gore, we watched that movie at least ten times!) but now imagine that kind of dystopian with Vaempires... I keep telling you this every day so, no need to blab about that here, right?... Wrong! We need a Vaempires movie!!!! (Tom, if this dream will never come true, keep in mind that my magic is more than ready for a big screen trailer!)

Great review, Franny and thanks for the lovely mention! :)
