Alyssa Worthington is the daughter and sole heir to the most prestigious coven in the witch world. Her childhood has been spent in the mundane human world learning to blend in and hide who she truly is, and it is here, during her last year that she meets a striking ex-high school quarterback from a small town in Montana who will turn her world upside down.
Alyssa holds the element of fire, unlike her best friends Lisa and Megan, who are both air elementals. It is the elemental powers that reside inside which require positive thoughts and positive actions in order to maintain this magickal connection. What would happen to a witch that let this get out of control? How can evil become the driving force behind revenge and death?
Dark secrets, dark magick and a desperate desire for revenge will bring Alyssa to the brink of destruction. She is being chased, but this pursuit is a silent one and her chaser has but one goal, Alyssa’s complete and total destruction. Will she overcome this dark threat and begin to live out her destiny? Will she survive and if so, will she lose herself as part of the price for being alive? Or, will her destiny rest on being crescent bound?
With all these dark forces creeping around silently in Alyssa’s life, her coven pushes for answers, some of the answers about an eighth and missing coven, in the witch world, lie with her new interest. Marcus may be the key to unlocking the mystery of the silent darkness threatening the seven remaining covens.
About the author
Karli has always blazed her own trail, whether popular or not. She has three wonderful sons and is contently married to a supportive husband. Her passion outside of writing is photography and all things natural. She is an Autism advocate and enjoys hiking, bike riding and family.
Karli was born deep in Cherokee Nation Indian Territory where she grew up loving everything paranormal and has even, first hand, witnessed a womanly spirit. The sighting, as it is referred to, occurred in Eureka Springs, Arkansas one of the top ten most haunted hotels, The Crescent Hotel. This experience captured Karli in ways that have expanded her beliefs about the possibilities of other realms.
As a teen, Karli was an avid reader, she sought out solitude for her passion in nearby Indian Graveyards. Although writing was something that has pulled at her most of her life, it wasn't until a recent visit to a Shaman, who saw her spirit's need for creativity, that she truly began down the path.
The Crescent Bound series is her first work which will consist of five books in all. She is simply thrilled to be able to share all the adventures of Alyssa Worthington with you.
Karli's ideal world would be one of open-minded kindness from everyone.

------------------------------------------------------
I walk into my first class and sit down in
my not so comfy chair to find a frosted, Swarovski crystal Bling H2O bottle of
water. Immediately, I search the room
trying to find him. Marc is sitting
about three rows directly in front of me.
As everyone else settles into their not so comfy seats, Marc turns
around and looks at me.
I hold the bottle up and show him I
received his gift. He returns that
gesture with a magnetizing smile. Good, I think, that wasn’t too distracting for me.
His smile is disarming and I am very concerned about what I would do if
he keeps that up. After class I cloak
and then shift right outside the door and wait for Marc to come out.
“Hey,” I say as he stops to lean against
the wall next to me.
“Hey…” he replies back grinning widely.
I move back a bit and switch my bag to my
other shoulder nervously. “I’m glad to
see you made it to school with out any car trouble.” I tell him as he puts his back to the wall
and slides both hands into the pockets of his faded jeans.
He looks at me intently, “Yeah, no
problems, so did you change your mind about going out this weekend?”
I try to relax, not sure why I’m so
fidgety. I decide to mimic his stance
“No, but I was wondering if you had plans for next Friday night?” Inside I’m telling myself, what am I doing, standing here talking
openly with this human guy? I know
father suggested this, so I am going on his instincts. I have this pestering notion too, that
talking to him feels right, that he isn’t just another typical human. He looks at me for a second trying to read my
many mixed expressions.
“I don’t think so, but if I do, I’ll make
sure to change it.” He puts on this
risqué smile, “Why, what do you have in mind?”
I clear my throat and ask, “We have fourth
hour together, right?”
He nods as confusion spreads across his
face. “Yeah, we do.”
I start walking away and reply over my
shoulder, “I’ll give more details after fourth hour, see you then,” I can
actually feel him watching me as I walk away.
Which for some strange, insane reason makes me feel kind of good; I like
him looking at me. Smiling inside, I
wonder if he thinks I’m the most secretive person he has ever met. I hope so and I intend to keep it that way
because the human and witch worlds just don’t mix.
Once outside the main building I glance
around, nope, it’s just me out here so I shift into my shimmering mist and in a
fraction of a second I cross the path reappearing beside an old oak tree. I casually walk up the steps to my next
class. In third hour Megan and I are
together. We sit next to each other of
course.
She leans over and whispers, “So how is
your hot human hunk of handsome doing today?”
“Marcus is just fine, ok Megan,” putting
my middle finger to my lips as a reminder to hush it among other things. She smiles, biting her lip as if I just
showed her a shirtless guy.
My father tells me he has well over a
thousand families in our coven that he attends to as needed. I can’t imagine how that would work for me
since I can’t even keep Megan in line for one day. Of course witches are known for our
independent ways. Keeping witches in line is like herding cats.
As class ends Megan pulls a burst of air
into the room, which has been empty for only a few seconds. Papers scatter all over the classroom along
with her hair blowing out and her skirt flying up. What is
this a rock video?
I give her an audacious look, “Don’t think
I’m going to clean it up for you.”
“I’m just blowing off some sexual tension
with a pinch of boredom.” She raises her
hand up to her ruby red lips and blowing kisses in the wind, the scattered
papers soar across the floor and into a whirlwind. Then one by one the papers stack themselves
into a neat pile on the front desk.
I glance over at her as I pick up my
books. “I can completely understand your
feelings.” And stroll out of the classroom.
“Wait,
Alyssa, did I hear you right, hey wait! What did you say again?”

This looks good, too bad it isn't available for nook owners. Thanks for sharing it and i love the cover.
